Bitterness...

Okay, so I have to admit I have been very bitter lately. It's about my non-existant "green zone". It's this wonderful thing I hear banded people talking about but mine is missing...well maybe not missing because if I have never had it then it can't be lost...can it???? Anyway...if anyone finds an extra "green zone"...just go ahead...direct it my way! Turn left at Iowa please!

So I have been staying right around 208-211 for weeks now. Bouncing back and forth and back and forth and back and...you get the idea. So tonight after Zumba I had my hubby take some new pictures of me to put things in perspective for me. Or to make me feel a little better about the weight I have already lost! It has been just short of 4 months since surgery and I have lost on a good day 50 pounds! So that part is good...if only I didn't feel like eating my own arm off most days...

So anyway...here are the results.

This was me the morning of surgery in the hotel before going to the hospital 258 lbs

This was me tonight on a good day at 208 lbs. And that is Zoe, she insisted to have her profile taken too (love her!)

So yes, I know there have been positive changes...I just really would like to try the green! I go next Thursday for my 3rd fill....so hoping this is the one!

  2. I was almost a year post-op before I found my green zone. In that year I lost approx 60lbs and had a difficult plateau. I am now 2.5 yrs post op and 110lbs down. It will happen. You are obviously making great progress. Best wishes !!

  3. I had about 4-5 fills before I felt close to green zone - 50 pounds is awesome! Everyone is different - I needed 8.5CCs in my band to get there - and I still have days where I'll cut a bitch over a plate of nachos or chocolate. Slow and steady - I lost 60 in the first 5 months and then have been slowly loosing the last bunch. Keep going - you are probably on a stall - try a different type of work out, or new exercise that usually helps!

  4. The change in you is amazing. I understand not being in the green zone yet. I was banded a couple of weeks before you and I'm not there yet either. I have my third fill next week as well.Fingers crossed third time will be the charm for both of us.

  6. It'll happen... it was 10 months or so before I was like "I finally get it." You just keep hitting Zumba... Staying at the same weight when we are trying so hard to lose is TERRIBLE! :) You can do it!

  10. Amazing job with no green zone. I understand your frustration. I was there for a LOOOONG time. I don't think I ever truly found the green zone before. I managed to lose 100 pounds without it... and then stumbled for awhile.

This time around I finally feel the loss of hunger and satiety everyone talks about. I truly hope you find that place too. It really helps to not feel like nawing off your arm all the time.

And amazing progress. Really. Congrats on your hard earned success thus far!

  11. Yes they really don't warn you strongly enough how it takes time to get to green. I was banded last October and wasn't there until February/March. It is important to fill up slowly though. Just keep telling yourself you are running a marathon not a sprint.
