The Harlem Shake

I downloaded some new songs tonight to run to. 

So I went to iTunes and was listening to the top songs out now.

Found #3 I had not heard on the radio. 

"The Harlem Shake"

So after it caught my curiosity enough to download it to hear the whole thing.

I had to You Tubed it...I knew there had to be some dance that goes with it.

Seriously, if you don't know what this is, you have to go to You Tube to check this out. 

I have been laughing for way too long watching these things tonight. Hopefully this link will work:

Eating just to Eat

Tonight, as I sit here and have my usual yogurt and almond snack before bed...I realized...

I still eat just to eat. 

Not out of "hunger". 

Just to eat.

Now, I did do this also before the band. 

However, it was more like cookies, chips, baked goods, crackers. 

You know, all the yummy tasting stuff. 

How I did not weight 1,000 pounds, I do not know! 

To justify the snack, my cinnamon roll flavored yogurt is definitely just a snack because it is slippery. I use it to get in some calcium that is not just from taking a vitamin because I take in NO milk during the day. Just some string cheese is my only current source. 

The almonds, well....they are just yummy! I don't have any other justification. They are butter toffee flavored goodness! 

So they are not needs, they are wants. But it's better than a cookie. 

And yes that is a regular sized spoon in that yogurt container..oooppppss!

Just a Quicky!


Today I was shopping in Kohl's and bought:

1. Size 12 pants
2. Size large shirt


Still overwhelming shopping in this large sea of "misses" "non-plus size". 

On another note, we did buy some girl scout cookies...probably not the best laid plan...but they are sure yummy! We are only eating 1 cookie at a time instead of one box at a time :-) 

Plus I also got a 2 mile run in, so that justifies it! Along with my best mile time. 

11:03/mile-NSV #2 today!

Ten Things Thursday!

Ten Things Thursday-Valentine's Edition!

1. Happy Valentines Day! My hubs got me a huge singing heart balloon! Love it! Last year my balloon floated around for 2 months! I hope this one does too!

2. Today was my half day at work!

3. Today was also my 8 month appointment. We threw caution to the wind and I got another 0.25cc in my band. I now have 11cc in my 14cc band. Was nervous this could push me over the edge, but supper went well tonight. No problems! 

4. My new exercise DVD came in the mail today! Urban Rebounding #1! This will officially get me started on my mini trampoline! I will post more about this tomorrow night after my first workout! I'm super excited to try this!

5. I need to re-paint my nails tonight

6. My fluffy puppy (well she is 8! Not really puppy, I just call her puppy) was so excited to see me tonight when I got home. Since I had my doctors appointment I got home late. She always has unconditional love!

7. I have been tracking my food for 30 days straight on My Fitness Pal! Makes me happy to see I have not missed one day! Keeps me on track!

8. I am still keeping up with my fruit and veggie (bean) routine. This is good!

9. I have come to realize that after running and having my cardio system in shape, not a lot of other exercises can get my heart rate up. So....I'm hoping this trampoline will be just what I need for an alternative!

10. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY AGAIN EVERYONE! It's a day of hearts; fuzzy hearts and puffy hearts! Hope you are all with those you love!

Bounce, Bounce, Bounce

Today I bought a new piece of exercise equipment.

My husband thinks it will collect dust. 

I have been looking at them at Walmart for weeks now. $29.77 of BOUNCING FUN!

Yep, it's a trampoline. 

I know, I know, a little 1980ish...but...I'm not wearing the thigh high leotard with tights and leg warmers....and the big hair with a sweatband. 

I don't have a lot of room, and I thought this would be a good cardio workout for at home. 

I have bounced a little on it, seem valid! 

Now I need to find a good video to do with it. 

Anyone else trampoline out there? Have any good workouts? Share the fun!

Extreme Shed & Shred & Shred & Shred Again!

Yes...yes it was a SHRED! 

Who else would this be...but Jillian Michaels. 

There was a sale, yes those are always my famous last words.

I couldn't say no to try a work-out with Miss Jillian. 

So she came home with me and I got my living room all set up for exercise. 

This video comes with 2-45 minute workouts. You can do them together or separate, however she tells you many times through the first one that she encourages you to do the full video. 

Truth be told, lets just take it one step at a time here woman!

I just did the first one today. It was pretty intense for a home video! 

Here I am after my workout and shower, I did survive Jillian for one workout! Wondering if I'll be sore from this tomorrow. We shall see!

I also ran a half mile after those 30 minutes. I had intentions of running more than that, but I was hot and sweaty after the video and mis-judged the winter weather conditions here and under-dressed. So I bee-lined it back home. 

Then I felt a little guilty, so I put in another video of Pilates and did a 10 minute ab workout.

1. Today I had to be at work all day :( 

2. But tomorrow is Friday and I get that as my half day! Yay!

3. My tattoo is scabbed over and healing well! I'll share a new pictures when it is all pretty!

4. Today I am not working out.....I know, I excuses, so I am not making any. I'm just not doing it today.

5. I am steadily losing, I love that!

6. Fruits and green beans are still in my diet daily, major accomplishment

7. I AM IN MY GREEN ZONE! For the first time I feel full after eating, and it is keeping me full for 4 hours. It is an amazing feeling! It has taken 10.75cc, 84lbs, and 8 months to get here...but I am here! That is all that matters!

8. Watching the season finale of Buckwild tonight on MTV...anyone else joining me????

9. I am so thirsty today, I know I didn't get enough water in this afternoon at work. I hate that feeling! 

10. TTT is easier the more you do it! I got to #10 fast today!!

**On a side note: I found a great protein bar that I LOVE and NEED every morning. 

They are called "Think Thin" 
They are 240 calories and have 20grams of protein. 

I have half of one every morning in between breakfast and lunch. That is my worst time of day for hunger and it leaves me so satisfied. 

They come in many flavors, my FAV is the chunky peanut butter!

Find them and try them!!!! Seriously! Now! Go get em! I'll wait here for you to get back!!!

My Daily Reminder

I made a permanent decision to have my Lap Band. 

I wanted a permanent daily reminder that I can see: 
1. Why I need to make good food choices, and 
2. Why I need go to the gym, and 
3. How I have lost all the weight I have already, and 
4. How I need to keep going to continue to lose more.

Yep, here it is: My surgery date with little turquoise retro mid-century mod designs next to it.

That Moment When...

I realized I am not tired all the time! 

I got up this morning and thought..."I didn't sleep well last night, I am going to tired all day!!!!!!"

Then it came to me after I was ready to go for the day that...

I feel GREAT! 

And then I had a flashback of what it was like before my Lap Band...

I was tired all day long. I was yawning and complaining of how tired I was from the minute I got up in the morning, it lasted all day long, and I couldn't wait to go to bed, or just lay down and rest. I never wanted to get up in the morning. 

I'm pretty sure I was even dreaming about sleeping!

Thank you Lap Band, Thank you Good Food, Thank you Exercise!
